We are pleased to announce Summer Programs at India International School. This will be a unique and comprehensive program for the convenience of parents, and a great learning and recreational opportunity for children. In the past, we had a few summer classes but over the years that many families are interested in a full-time integrated program. We are trying our best to launch this program this year; your support will be essential for its success. We would like to highlight the following special features of the program:
1. This program will be a rare combination of:
(a) CULTURAL AWARENESS through instruction and active participation in music, dance, arts, theater, general knowledge;
(b) ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS through nature studies, videos and field trips;
(c) SOCIAL AWARENESS through group interaction, games, public speaking, debates, leadership, mutual respect;
(d) PERSONAL AWARENESS through nutrition, health, hygiene, yoga, relaxation;
(e) ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE through workshops in math, science, English; and
(f) EXTENDED HOURS from 8 am to 6 pm.
2. FEES: We had conducted a survey among teachers and organizations familiar with summer programs; they suggested fees ranging from $400 to 650 per week. We took the lowest amount of this range – $400 per week; and reduced it to $350 per week for 4-week session; no extra cost for field trips, and twice daily snacks. This fee will barely cover the operating cost of facility, staff, supplies, etc.
3. REGISTRATION: In order to firm up the summer programs, we need to recruit staff and make logistical arrangements by mid-May . Hence, we need to have a final count of families committed to take advantage of summer program – 15-25 in each age group- 5-8 yrs, and 8-12 yrs. We request you to send payment in full by end of April. There will be 10% sibling discount. An orientation session will be held for registered students/parents two weeks before the start date.
